FAQ
What file types are supported?
STL, 3MF (including multi-object and multi-plate project files from Bambu Studio and MakerWorld), and STP/STEP. File size limits: 200 MB for STL and 3MF, 100 MB for STP/STEP.
Does it work with my Shopify theme?
Yes. PrintQuote installs as a native Theme App Extension — drag and drop it into any Online Store 2.0 theme from the Shopify Theme Editor. No code required.
How is the price calculated?
PrintQuote analyses the geometry of the uploaded file in the browser — volume, surface area, and print complexity — and applies your material preset (cost per gram, hourly machine rate, density). The server independently verifies the price before any order is created.
Can customers upload multiple files in one order?
Yes. Each file gets its own material, color, infill, and quantity selector. Pricing is calculated per file and summed. Delivery options show only the tiers supported by all selected materials.
What happens when a customer submits?
A Shopify Draft Order is created automatically with the correct pricing, material name, file URL, and customer email. On Maker, you can optionally require approval before the invoice is sent.
